SYNOPSYS

scramble [-redkv] file  

DESCRIPTION

scramble is a file encryption command loosely based on the character rotation wheel of the enigma cypher.  

DEFAULTS

By default, scramble will purge with -e and will not purge with -d scramble is to keep the original encrypted password around. Upon encrypting, the default is to erase the original file (use -k option if this is not what you want).  

OUTPUT

scramble output files have file extension .cyt

 

OPTIONS

-v

verbose
-V

Print version information
-r

recursive
-e

encrypt file
-d

decrypt file
-k

don't purge (use with -e )
-b

purge (use with -d )

 

REQUIREMENTS

Remember your password. The longer the password, the more secure the encryption. Attempts to guess passwords will further encrypt the file.
